Problem with intagging OneNote

Post by thetrad9 » Tue Dec 03, 2019 4:45 pm

Hi guys,

Whenever I use
Intags in OneNote, from that point on Voicecomputer will always intag OneNote
when it is in focus.

This seems logical but then no matter how many
times I say "close numbers" or "close intags" thereafter, VC just
keeps on intagging OneNote.
this takes up a lot
of system resources and it seems to be stuck in a loop.

The only thing to stop it doing so is a system reboot. I use OneNote 2013 desktop all the time so is a real pain. Has anyone else had similar issues ?

Thanks

Soti

Problem with intagging OneNote

Are you using VoiceComputer 2020, v 1.2.2.1?

Do the numbers reappear as you continue to work in OneNote? Or, do you switch to other programs and come back to it, or, use the TaskBar commands?

Hi Ron,
Yes I'm using version 2020 v1.2.2.1.
Upon further investigation, reckon everything it's working fine.

It just takes up a lot of system resources to intag all elements so that there is about 5sec delay from when I issue a command and when the VC obeys.

My PC spec is :
Windows 10(64bit)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50Ghz
16.00 GB RAM

Thanks

Hi thetrad,

It appears that OneNote isn't very "intag friendly". It's probably best to use Overlays (MyIntags) because they are static and won't give any delays.

About your system specs, it appears you are using an older i7 version? Because most current versions are well over 3.5 Ghz. I'm using a somewhat outdated i7-6700 which runs at 4.0 GHz and although there is some delay in OneNote it's not really troublesome. However I think my system could be somewhat faster.

About I7 processors, they may not even be a wise choice. In most benchmark testings the i5 usually outbeats the i7 when it comes to single core performance (and that's Dragon!). So generally speaking when it comes to future investments, a modern I5 chip is probably your best bet :-).

16 GB of RAM (I have the same amount) nowadays appears to be somewhat of a minimum. You may want to add some more.

Create a new Dragon user profile and try it out. This will probably get rid of the delay.
